A concise, beginner’s guide to Raid Party

This is a complete beginner’s guide on how to start playing RP (RaidParty). The article covers 2 main topics: the use case of Heroes and Fighters, as well as how to start playing the game itself.

Although I do recommend reading RP’s official whitepaper, this article will cover all the surface level info needed to play the game.

Heroes and Fighters

In order to play the game you must have at least 1 Hero and 1 Fighter, which are two separate NFTs that can be purchased on Opensea. Although Heroes are technically more important than Fighters, at this current stage Fighters are seen to be more valuable for reasons I will discuss below.

UPDATE: Now you only need 1 Hero to play. Devs implemented this change so new players have a relatively cheaper entry.

Heroes

The 3 most important traits that you must look for in Heroes is their damage multiplier, party size and their Genesis status.

  • Damage multiplier

The damage multiplier value determines how much extra damage Fighters can do in your party. The higher the multiplier, the better your damage will be allowing you to earn you more $CFTI.

  • Party size

Party size determines how many Fighters you may have in your party, thus a higher party size is optimal in outputting the most amount of damage.

  • Genesis

For the sake of simplicity I will not be going over this point as it is not too important right now — you can always read the official whitepaper if you are curious. Just know that at this current stage, whether your Heroes are Genesis or not doesn’t matter (although with a few updates this can quickly change).

Fighters

For Fighters, their damage matters the most, ranging from 800 to 1400. If you are looking for a good budget level Fighter, look around the 1120 range — great deals for only a tiny amount above floor.

OK so why are Fighters seen as more valuable than Heroes right now? There are 2 main reasons:

  • Fighters are the only ones that can attack the monsters and do damage, while Heroes sit on your dashboard and look pretty.
  • Furthermore, to enhance your Fighters (which is the first thing you should be doing as a player), you must burn a Fighter on top of a 25 $CFTI fee.

It’s important to understand that to enhance a Fighter you must burn another Fighter — naturally you want to burn the weakest Fighters to enhance the strongest ones.

If you want to increase your damage output, it is mathematically better to enhance a fighter from Lvl 0 to Lvl 1, compared to buying another Fighter.

  • There is also a slim 10% chance that your enhancement will fail, resulting in wasted $CFTI and the Fighter that you chose to burn will still be burnt (roughly $4500USD down the drain).

How to play

Once you are on the official RP website with a Hero and a Fighter, connect your wallet and you should be taken to the main dashboard which looks something like the image below (but with your dashboard being blank).

Once clicking on the Edit button, you will be directed to a page with your Hero and Fighters. To play the game you must stake them, and to do that click on the Hero and the Fighters.

Note that I’ve already staked my characters thus it shows up as ‘Unequip’ in red text on the right. When you click your characters, it should pop up in green as ‘Equip’.

Click on ‘Execute actions’ and there will be 3 different types of transactions: two ‘approval’ transactions and one ‘send’ transaction. You will have to pay gas for all 3, but with gas being consistently under 30 gwei these past few days, it should be no more than $30USD altogether.

IMPORTANT: If you come across error messages and failed transactions, make sure that you are on the Ethereum Mainnet. There has been instances of error messages when using different networks such as Flashbot RPC or private nodes, and using the Mainnet was a quick solution.

Once complete you should see your Fighters raiding in the home screen.

Time to !party 🎉

FAQ

Q1) If I have only 1 Hero and 1 Fighter, how much $CFTI am I making per day?

A1) With a 1.5x Hero and one 1000 damage Fighter you are looking to make about 1.5 $CFTI per day, which is about $120-$180 (constantly fluctuates)

Q2) Can I buy $CFTI on secondary?

A2) Yes it can be purchased on Uniswap. You can also check DexScreener for prices https://dexscreener.com/ethereum/0x8aa5124e382cc874c3a53ee401b5464c0a0016d2
